Lee J. Ames does a good job of helping you learn to draw aircraft in 'Draw 50 airplanes, aircraft and spacecraft' book. I've tried to draw planes before but they looked, well, bad! If you want a singular book on drawing then I’d instead recommend the first books at the top of this list. However I wouldn’t say this book is bad or incorrect in how it teaches drawing. Just that it goes far beyond mere drawing, and this can be off.
Good instruction books on aviation art are thin on the ground so this one is a welcome addition. I have found it informative and helpful in many section on perspective and projective geometry is most useful in getting a realistic aircraft from blueprint drawings.I think the book benefits from being written by a practicing aviation artist with a strong background of engineering in the Reviews: Frank A. A. Wootton offers good advice for artists wanting to try their hand at aircraft. Drawing planes (this book was published during World War II, so illustrations are from that period) is covered along with composition, light and shading, and action sequences. This is a great little book that novice artists will find a very useful resource.
